Synopsis:
Gold-digger Paula marries the elderly Michael Romay but grows tired of waiting for him to die so she can inherit his fortune. She convinces gardener Max to murder Michael but the crime is discovered by Michael's grown son Ted. Max and Paula are arrested.

Mary weds garage owner Jack. Joyce is hired as the bookkeeper. Joyce introduces Mary to handsome Lee Cook and promotes a romance between them, then threatens to blackmail Mary. Jack punches Lee and promises to pay more attention to Mary in the future.

Penelope is compelled by her elderly father to become engaged to wealthy Seth Parnell. She moves into his mansion "Magnolia Knolls" before the wedding, and is frightened by the screams of a man she hears each night. Seth and Mrs. Tarenn deny hearing anything. Penelope discovers Seth is keeping his younger brother Jed locked up, hoping to drive him mad so he can inherit the family fortune.
Modeling school owner Fran hires Wayde to handle the job placement part of her business. Wayde brings in Gloria Porter, who takes photographs of the "models" with visiting businessmen and blackmails them. Fran goes to the District Attorney who assigns policewoman Mary to pose as a model. Wayde and Gloria find out; Fran is shot protecting Mary. Wayde is killed by the police and Gloria is arrested.
