Charlie Chaplin's Comic Capers - Series 1 #315 [1917]

First in a series of five issues with different titles to feature Chaplin.
This copy was missing two pages. Damaged fills are added from an eBay listing of the same book.

Contains very early, primitive art by future Thimble Theatre/Popeye creator E.C. Segar. This was his first regular strip which he would work on for a year.
Segar makes an appearance in the strip on pg19 in the last panel after giving the Little Tramp a smack.

Segar would create Thimble Theatre two years later debuting it on December 19, 1919, featuring the characters Olive Oyl, Castor Oyl and Harold Hamgravy. Popeye would make his first appearance 10 years later into the strip and steal the show.
