Comment:	Just lovely stuff. I suppose one could fault Kelly for layering a certain sentimentalism over a Nature not inclined to show mercy in the struggle for survival between species, but it is so well done -- and as a ad for bakery products, of all things -- that I cut him plenty of slack. I've come to be more fond of Kelly's Peter Wheat fables than his Pogo strips. Yikes!

Synopsis:	Someone has been raiding the chipmunk family's store of nuts. Peter and Beetle investigate and find a hawk fighting a fox over a baby chipmunk. The hawk takes the chipmunk to his nest, but Peter, with help from Beetle and a blue jay (and also the fox, which has a change of heart), come to the rescue. The nut thieves turn out to be two crows.
